Mass disturbances: theory, measurement, hearing

Norbert Maurer

In the new workshop “Mass disturbances - eliminate the number 1 sound killer” I will show you the unbelievable increases in sound when mass disturbances are eliminated. my new workshop concept (Number 3) shows theoretically, sonically and metrologically what the new ones Ground optimizer Afford. Of course, listening has absolute priority and takes up the largest part of the workshop. For a better understanding of what you will hear, there is a short theoretical introduction to my idea and a short measurement of an application.

Do devices with less mass interference sound better? Why?

I will briefly explain why mass disturbances worsen the sound without the signals having to change as a result

Field measurements on devices

I will show you in a nutshell how the radiation of interference fields (E-fields) change when the new Vortex HiFi Ground Optimizer technology is used.

Computer software for 3D measuring head
Computer software for 3D measuring head
ROM 3D Fieldmaster

The sound differences due to changes in mass

Much more important than theory and measurements is the sound advantage you get Ground optimizer technology brings. Therefore I will show you the different sonic effects of the Ground Optimizer from "Router to amplifier." Then you will understand why our dealers consider the Ground Optimizer "Must Have" and "Tip of the year" describe.

I am looking forward to your visit

  1. Hello Mr. Maurer,

great thing. A question about your video: What if the router is in a completely different room, on a different power line, than the (earthed) system?

So there are different earth potentials on both sides. Do you have to fear ground-loops with the optimiser on the rounter in such a case, which would reduce the effect? (In your example everything is hanging on a bar)

On the other hand, I thought Ethernet was galvanically isolated from the start at all points, where does the interference go directly to the hi-fi devices? There shouldn't be a direct LAN ground connection right? (Otherwise you would have potential ground-loop problems at all points in the network)

    best regards
    matthias

    1. Hello Matthias,

the problem of ground loops you raised is crucial. It makes the earthing of all components impossible and thus prevents biological interferences from being adequately eliminated.
However, the Ground Optimizer does not establish a broadband connection to the earth potential, precisely to avoid significant equalizing currents and hum. We limit ourselves to the frequencies that are primarily responsible for eddy currents in conductors and interfaces and that are high.
This is because we assume that eddies are of biological relevance. Konstantin Meyl describes this biological relevance and Magda Havas (to name just one Dirty Power researcher) documents ear noises and nerve disorders caused by frequencies on lines where skin effects occur. Havas does not write anything about skin effects, but de facto it describes an effect on the organism only at frequencies where these occur in cross-section in house lines. According to these Dirty Power researchers, the disturbances of the human organism grow with the frequency - in the same way as vortex effects in ladders increase with the frequency.
So we de facto have a separation from the earth potential at the frequencies at which hum problems can occur and conduct at the frequencies where there are no hum problems. Since high frequencies can best be diverted via short conductors, we also recommend using several Ground Optimizers in the system and, of course, especially on the switch or router if it is located in another location in the house.
But also in complex HiFi cabling, we recommend the use of several Ground Optimizers for the reasons mentioned here. One is good - several are better.

    2. Hello Matthias,
here is the answer to the second part of the question - "where does the interference go directly to the hi-fi devices?" It is not a matter of a ground fault in the router, but rather the interference that reaches the ground of the system through the router.

The intersection of the interference from the router into the hi-fi system is the shielding of the LAN connection. It is connected to the ground of the streamer. In this way, interference from the entire network also affects the cinch outputs and all other ground connections in the system.

At this point I would like to make our point of view on "shielding" with ground potential clear again. Even with all signal cables, shielding with ground potential is considered fundamentally wrong, as the antenna is effective in both directions. On the one hand from external interference in the circuit and on the other hand from the circuit to the outside world on people. We therefore always shield our signal cables with a "decoupled" earth potential.

      Regards
