Vortex HiFi GeoPath Optimizer test on HiFi-Today

Be right in the middle - and not just be there

The journalist Frank Wacker writes in his latest report about the GeoPath Optimizer from Vortex HiFi:

And finally ...
If you want to hear and feel music in all its emotionality at the time of recording, the VORTEX Hifi GeoPath could represent a quantum leap similar to that for me. Without it, it's no longer possible for me, after all I want to be right in the middle of it - and not just be part of it.

Back to the Future

You will think I'm crazy: I can travel in time - only roughly, and only into the past, but at least. I recently stayed in 1979. The Amsterdam Concertgebouw concert hall is currently recording Rimsky Korsakov's Scheherazade, an orchestral work about the oriental fairy tale Arabian Nights. It was conducted by Kirill Kondrashin, the former figurehead of the Russian cultural office. Formerly because Kondrashin asked for asylum just a few months earlier on a concert tour in the Netherlands and is now the second chief conductor of the Concertgebouw.

June 1979 in the Concertgebouw: Tense atmosphere with goose bumps guaranteed

With the first sound I feel the tension in the air, which expands like a dome in all directions, also behind and above me. What a hall. I'm in the thick of it - not just part of it. The blaring of the wind instruments from the back of the stage drives me through my core and lets me, together with the swirling kettledrum, experience the drama in 1001 Nights: Every evening Scheherazade tells a fairy tale to the Persian King Schahryâr. If he loses the joy of it, he will kill her - as he has made dozen of women headless before. At the same time, the performance exudes the magic with its warm, unbelievably multi-layered timbres, with which I was fascinated by oriental fairy tales as a child. The sometimes gently carried, then again light-footed solo violin, played by Hermann Krebbers, gives me an idea of how strong the love of the profound princess must have been and how much life she breathed into her stories. After 1001 nights, the king was finally convinced of Scheherazade's love and let it live - even I get goose bumps, when practicality often blocks the romantic vein.

Artful transformation: from living room to concert hall

After 44:20 minutes I end up in the here and now again, but the time travel continues to have an effect. I am impressed that Kondrashin and the Concertgebouw Orchestra managed to play from one piece within just a few months. Sitting in the middle of the hall like the live recording in June 1979 is new and amazes me reverently. The classic factors of high-quality music reproduction, for example first-class fine resolution, timbre fidelity, impulsiveness / timing or spatiality, which clearly separates the sound bodies from one another, clearly staggered in depth and breadth and depicts each one vividly, are all there - but there is even more that is itself in Breaks become noticeable: emotions that bring the music and the performers to life. Such moments inspire me because they change my perception and I can rediscover what I already know in a completely new way. This does not require an extremely expensive system with a lavishly acoustically optimized listening room. I went to the concert with our living room system, consisting of the very good all-in-one device AVM C5 and the Audio Physic boxes Tempo 6 - including high-quality cabling, a few resonators from Acoustic System and interference suppression products from VORTEX Hifi. A field report with an overview of different VORTEX hi-fi product groups can be found in the special print “Experiences with VORTEX hi-fi products”.

The time machine: VORTEX Hifi Geopath

Over the years, my listening perception at home has developed from "that sounds really good and is completely detached from the speakers", to "the musicians / instruments are in front of you" to the additional perception of the recording room. The feeling of traveling back in time and in the middle of it, instead of just being there, gives me the VORTEX Hifi GeoPath, which came onto the market in mid-2020, and which complements all of the other Vortex Hifi products for me. The fist-sized box is simply plugged into the socket. Important: the correct polarity of the plug - as you should also pay attention to with hi-fi devices. With the voltage tester enclosed with the set of three, the phase in the socket can be found out quickly. The GeoPath must be plugged in so that the plug side with the VORTEX-HiFi logo is on the phase side, i.e. where the lamp in the handle of the phase tester lights up.

Young, wild and versatile: the artist Tori Amos in the early nineties

The next time travel takes me to 1991: Tori Amos records Little Earthquake, with which she will lay the foundation for her worldwide success. Compared to the current recordings, the young voice, recognizable by the slightly different timbre spectrum, captivates me from the first note and makes me aware: Here a young, energetic woman in her late twenties sings and plays who wants to unhinge the conservative, retrograde world - probably I like their music so much because I know this rebellious being myself, which I perceive to be positive. Without the VORTEX Hifi GeoPath, however, I have never experienced this level of Little Earthquakes in this depth. Tracks four and five are my favorite songs. “Precious Things” (Title 4) is about being able to escape unpleasant memories by running faster. The song begins with panting-like sound effects from the right, the nimble piano playing is reminiscent of whirling legs. Then Tori begins to sing "So I can run faster" - simply terrific. Snotty-sounding electric guitar riffs and the expressive drums, which can be perceived in the finest shades, give the song more spice and increase the drama. The following title, "Winter", which is calm and radiates a lot of warmth, contrasts nicely with the rough Precious Things - and shows how diverse Tori Amos is. A conversation with her father inspired her to write this song. When she was dissatisfied with herself because her first album flopped, he said to her: "Tori Ellen, when do you accept that you are good enough for yourself". This moment, which for me almost sacred, radiates deepest love and appreciation, is most strongly expressed when the wind instruments start at 3:39 minutes - moving.

More complex than live: listening to music with the time travel effect

Again I am concerned with the hours and days after that. Because listening to music with the time travel effect creates the opportunity to get closer to the artist (s) at the moment of the recording, it even offers me more than a classic live performance. Tori Amos once said that the meaning of the songs for her was changing and that she was losing the emotional access to some of them from before. This certainly doesn't just apply to them. Discovering a recording with the time travel effect opens up a completely different world of music perception. And the VORTEX Hifi GeoPath is the gateway for me.

It is not the sound that makes the music, but our brain

The VORTEX Hifi GeoPath is available in two qualities, as GeoPath 2 and the slightly larger GeoPath 3, which is optimized for hi-fi. I have three 3-way each in the circuits (hi-fi system, other sockets, light) in our living room and the small listening room. The exciting thing about it: Without the two GeoPaths in the circuits not affecting the system (light, other sockets), the musical experience loses its magic. I'm still there, but no longer in the thick of it. This underlines the approach of VORTEX-Hifi boss and mastermind Norbert Maurer, that environmental stress such as electrosmog and - like at home - fields caused by earth radiation, so-called geopathogenic zones, have a strong influence on the perception of music. That makes sense: we perceive sounds with our ears, but only our brain makes emotionally moving music out of them. Stress bothers this massively. Few of them are aware of the enormous amount of interference radiated from the power grid, as well as WLAN, DECT and cell phone networks and geopathogenic zones, which stress our organism. Visible and measurable effects of stress from electrical fields You not only hear that, sensitive people like me can feel the fields. Norbert Maurer also does a lot of research in this area, using field measurements and heart rate measurements to demonstrate how radiation has a negative effect on the body - and how the use of VORTEX Hifi products measurably and noticeably reduce this stress. I use the products all over the house, in the car and in the office right from the start, because I don't want to miss the high quality of life associated with them around the clock. The gigantic gain in sound is "only" the dessert - a wonderfully good thing that in recent years has catapulted the musical experience at home to a level that I couldn't even dream of before, because it was beyond my imagination.

Unhealthy radiation affects our blood

Due to radiation that is unhealthy for us, the red blood cells clump together (money roll effect), so that the flow speed is reduced and the finest capillaries, including those in the inner ear, which is important for hearing, are no longer optimally supplied with blood. Here are some pictures of the blood taken with the microscope from VORTEX Care / Ed Doggen. You can clearly see the roll of money effect - and how it goes back through the use of VORTEX Hifi products with the oscillation alignment technology, to which the GeoPath belongs.

Look into the microscope: on the left the roll of money effect and on the right the ideal blood condition Image: VORTEX Care / Ed Doggen

Technology that inspires: the VORTEX Hifi oscillation alignment technology

The exact mode of operation of the oscillation alignment technique exceeds my level of knowledge, as it is based on findings from quantum physics. Put simply, it enables existing fields around power lines, electrical devices as well as WLAN, DECT and mobile phone networks to be modulated by transporting information in such a way that they have a positive effect on our body - a brilliant move. The GeoPath works so strongly that it also positively changes the originally negative fields of geopathogenic zones - as shown by the above images. The better the information fits the human body, the stronger the feel-good effect or the gain in sound. Norbert Maurer used to work with around a dozen pieces of information; today the GeoPath 3 has 120 different pieces of information, i.e. well over 100 different vibration patterns. That is a huge step forward. Because it was specially developed for listening to music, it sharpens our attention and wakes us up. It is the perfect choice for listening rooms, the home theater and the study where you want to be focused on the matter at hand. In the bedroom and living room where we want to relax, I use the more calming GeoPath 2 - it has 64 different pieces of information.

Good things take time: wait for the first deterioration

As with most Vortex Hifi products, the Geopath also suffer from the initial deterioration known from homeopathy until the grossest field change is complete. Due to the many geopathogenic zones, the effect was so noticeable to us that we had to leave the house. When we got back after about four hours, it had calmed down and in the evening there was an unusually relaxed atmosphere. During the initial deterioration, the sound also suffers, so classic comparison hearing does not work with the GeoPath. When we had a power failure in the town for almost an hour, I wondered why I felt uncomfortable in some places in the house. When I thought about it, I realized it was the areas with geopathogenic zones - the GeoPath were not working. WLAN and DECT telephone fields, on the other hand, were ruled out - they didn't work either. And it couldn't be the cell phone network either, because our cell phones are suppressed by VORTEX Hifi Oscillation Alignment Cards. They work similarly to the GeoPath, but on the cell phone network.

Sound sculptures instead of one-dimensional sound pulp

The time travel phenomenon also works in a small listening room measuring just 11 square meters with a listening distance of less than two meters. The room walls dissolve into thin air thanks to the space that can also be perceived here in all dimensions, I am right in the middle again - and not just there. This even works with hard metal discs like Realm of Chaos, the second studio album by British death metal legends Bolt Thrower. I really like almost all of their albums, but Realm of Chaos is one of my absolute favorites, because the mix of Grindcore and Death Metal really makes things happen and you never get bored. Even the intro, which is modeled on running machines and wafts through the room, gets under my skin and makes me shiver. I forget the world around me and arrive at the recording year 1991. The first guitar riffs and the double bass attacks on the opener "Eternal War" hit me with incredible force. But what impresses me most is the typical Bolt Thrower guitar roller that rolls towards you. On good systems it resembles a wall that takes in the entire panorama, thanks to the many optimizations, this wall has gained more and more structure and depth for me in recent years. Now it looks like a sound sculpture to reach in - as I already know from many recordings in better quality. Insanity! I'm so excited that after 40 minutes I don't feel like exploring the real world and hit play again.

Beware of geopathogenic zones

You should still know one thing: How pronounced the VORTEX Hifi GeoPath will work in your home depends heavily on your environment. If you experience similarly strong improvements as I did, that also speaks in favor of the existence of geopathogenic zones. In this case, I would advise you to hire a: n route taker: in and mark the spots. The GeoPath should definitely overlay outside of this time. If, on the other hand, it acts on the geopathogenic zones from the outside, its effect is retained.

Conclusion

If you want to hear and feel music in all its emotionality at the time of recording, the VORTEX Hifi GeoPath could represent a quantum leap similar to that for me. Without it, it's no longer possible for me, after all I want to be right in the middle of it - and not just be part of it. In addition, I don't know of any other way to suppress interference in geopathogenic zones so effectively - which increases well-being around the clock. That makes the VORTEX Hifi GeoPath unrivaled. And considering what you can sometimes only spend on filtered hi-fi socket strips, I also think the price-performance ratio is outstanding. And now if you will excuse me, I'm diving into the past again. The year 2000 calls: The cello rockers Apocalyptica record their album "Cult" ...
