When plugs vibrate, your sound is the loser

The fact that vibrating plugs can negatively influence good sound, and even prevent it entirely, has been a known fact in high-end hi-fi for many years. Specially damped plugs and sockets have been developed for the super high-end sector, or plugs and sockets are kneaded in. Vortex HiFi research has been investigating these phenomena for many years and has thus developed a solution that consistently solves the problem.

Mechanical damping of the bush vibration

The metal parts of the Vortex HiFi Nano Shield Plugs or Vortex HiFi Nano Shield cablethat are in contact with the device socket are attenuated. So we don't isolate the vibration, we let it reach the connector and dampen this vibration with a special damping mass. This reduces resonances from mechanical reflections.

Self-adhesive for maximum cushioning

This damping compound is self-adhesive on metal and plastic parts and thus always has a firm contact with the metal for perfect damping. This is a decisive advantage over sand or other damping agents that do not stick to the connector itself. The damping also works “overhead” against gravity.

Low reflection vibration damping

The advantage of this measure is that the oscillation is not reflected at the transition and can build up (go into resonance). This principle of dissipation and subsequent damping, developed by Norbert Maurer, has already proven its worth in the super high-end hi-fi rack area.

This damping concept not only reduces the vibration of the terminating plug or the cable, but also the socket itself transmits the vibration to the plug and dampens it.

Reduction of sound-damaging potential vortices

What is new is the treatment of the damping material, which can damage the sound of potential vortices (see Meyl) reduced in mass (the potential vortices only occur in the dielectric).

Cavity filling

In order to additionally hinder mechanical vibration of the metal parts, almost the entire inner volume of the plug was filled.

Shielding without disadvantages

Thus, the Vortex HiFi Nano Shield Plug's and Cables also made a significant contribution to improving the sound by mechanically calming the device sockets. The advantages of shielding the sockets are not destroyed by a connector construction that has gotten into resonance.
