Listening to music after demagnetizing with the Iraser rods and wiping various surfaces with a damp cloth is so much fun that you just listen and quickly forget the usual hi-fi questions. Given their ability to bring more music into the listening room, this is an inexpensive purchase. For me, one thing is certain: In the future, I will definitely take time for these tuning measures on a regular basis. In addition, I now not only know what a fresh cell treatment feels like, but also what it sounds like.

Iraser is a portmanteau of I for Information and E for raser (erasing device). The Iraser was developed based on our realization that "demagnetizing" with conventional demagnetizers used in hi-fi equipment isn't about "demagnetization" in the literal sense, but rather about erasing sound-degrading material structures. The Iraser can solve the following problems:

• Deletion of sound-damaging structures from CD's.
• Deletion of sound-damaging structures from LPs.
• Deletion of sound-damaging structures in termination plugs
• Deletion of sound-damaging structures in dust caps, made of plastic or metal
• Deletion of “aging” structures in analog cables that are damaging to the sound.
• Deletion of “aging” structures in digital cables that are damaging to the sound.
• Deletion of sound-damaging “aging” structures in power cables.
• Deletion of sound-damaging “aging” structures in loudspeaker cables.
• Deletion of sound-damaging “aging” structures in power connector strips made of metal and plastic.
• Deletion of sound-damaging structures on the rack floors, especially in the case of metal, plastic and glass.
• Deletion of sound-damaging structures from glass surfaces such as windows.
• Deletion of sound-damaging structures from plug-in power supplies and plug-in filters.

Listening tests in specialist magazines have regularly shown a considerable improvement in sound when you “demagnetize” records, CDs, but also cables and plugs on degaussing devices. One point of criticism, however, was that CDs, cables and plugs in the hi-fi that are "demagnetized" with these devices do not contain any ferromagnetic components at all - that is, magnetic fields cannot be eliminated because there are none at all.

With our 3D (isotropic) measuring device (see left), we can detect changes in the static magnetic field down to a resolution of 1 pT (1 pico tesla). This allowed us to demonstrate that most objects exhibiting clear sound changes when demagnetized were not (ferro)magnetic, or could not be demagnetized in this way. However, tests have detected magnetic components in vinyl records. The magnetic fields could be altered by approximately 10% (45 pT) using a record demagnetizer. The truth is, however, that this does not change the signal, and CDs or connectors in hi-fi systems generally do not exhibit magnetism. Therefore, we assume that the negative sound effect is not caused by a magnetic field (which is usually absent) but rather by a material structure (information).

Our research regarding the formation of structures in materials ( see information ) shows that transient, sound-degrading structures form in all materials, regardless of whether they are magnetizable, non-magnetic, non-conductive, or conductive. These structures (transient structures created by the environment) can be erased by magnetic fields ! Therefore, "demagnetizing" is not about eliminating magnetism in materials, but about ERASING sound-degrading structures in all materials exposed to fields.

“Demagnetization”/erasing is THE measure against the “aging” of our HiFi components, but especially of accessories such as termination plugs, termination caps, plugs, cables, etc.

According to our research results, this can also be done with specially informed, strong permanent magnets (N52 neodymium). That is why we have made our eraser sticks based on permanent magnets.

Simple, uninformed magnets unfortunately have the disadvantage that the magnetic field deletes structures that are harmful to the sound that have formed in the material, but replaces them with other structures that are harmful to the sound - the magnet.

The Iraser from Vortex HiFi is a wooden rod internally fitted with up to two specially energized supermagnets. Depending on the model, one N52 supermagnet is magnetized diametrically and the other longitudinally. By rotating the rod, an alternating magnetic field can be generated, sufficiently demagnetizing a ferromagnetic object. In our experience, complete demagnetization is not necessary for sonic improvement. With non-ferromagnetic objects (e.g., cables), simply moving the rod over them can erase sound-degrading structures. Plugs are treated with the black end, into which the second magnet is embedded. This magnet is thicker/stronger and thus erases structures even more effectively, for example, on the plugs. By energizing the magnetic field, the object being "erased" is simultaneously given a significant sonic enhancement (see information on the Vortex HiFi website).

The Iraser is available in various quality levels. Its advantages over a traditional demagnetizer are that the cables to be demagnetized do not need to be disconnected from the devices , and that all objects, including stationary and large ones like glass tables, can be treated. Another significant advantage is the price, ranging from only €100 to €400, depending on the model.

Iraser I3 diamond

The Vortex HiFi Iraser Stab I3 Diamant is the seat product from the Iraser series. It has a diametrical N52 super magnet in the green part of the wooden stick and a super magnet with longitudinal embossing in the black part.

Both magnets are imbued with a wealth of natural information. In addition to a variety of semi-precious stones ( PI group ), a group of precious stones, including diamonds, are located at each end of the rod to transfer the gemstone information to the magnetic field. Both magnets are imbued with a wealth of natural information. Additionally, a variety of semiprecious stones ( PI group ) are embedded in each end of the rod. These stones transmit their gemstone information to the magnetic field. These gemstones, selected based on the principles of crystal healing, enable a holistic improvement in music perception, evoking profound emotions.
