What is Obsidian Mineralogical?

Obsidian in a naturally occurring rock glass. Obsidian is formed when lava cools rapidly. Therefore it is also called lava glass or volcanic glass. It becomes obsidian because it has a low water content. If the water content exceeds 4%, the liquid puffs up and pumice stone is created. Because the lava cools down quickly, regular crystal structures do not form and a glass is created.

Obsidian is metastable and shows a tendency to "devitrify" within geological time periods.

A variety that we also use is the snowflake obsidian. Snowflake obsidians contain inclusions that have grown radially. These grew spherically from a crystallization point. These “snowflakes” in obsidian are mostly feldspars.

Color: The obsidian is mostly dark green to black in color, occasionally also brown and reddish. This is due to the finely distributed hematite or magnetite minerals in the rock. We also use different varieties. We use black obsidian, snowflake obsidian as well as brown obsidians depending on the application.

What is obsidian energetically?

The elemental force of the volcano gave us obsidian, one of the most important healing stones *, and it has been used by humans since the Stone Age.

The black obsidian is said to be able to ensure better blood circulation and energy supply and therefore has a soothing effect on vascular constrictions, energy blockages or temperature sensitivity. So it is not surprising that an improvement in perception is also attributed to him.

With its ascribed properties on the human psyche, so-called obsidian mirrors (rounds) have been companions of many people in meditation for a long time.

The obsidian stands for a piece of nature that helps us to make our environment a bit more natural again, to switch off from everyday life and thus enable a musical experience that is unparalleled.

In addition to black obsidian, we also use the variety of snowflake obsidian. We use these in our Cable, Plugs and ours Nano Shield Plug - products. We also use the snowflake obsidian for body relief as Donut.
